Children’s fashion label Isossy hits NYFW
22nd February 2016
British children’s fashion label, Isossy, made its debut at New York Fashion Week to rave reviews and I believe is a brand to watch out for. Children’s fashion continues to shout for its share of voice amongst the fashion pack and it is well and truly being heard. I have loved seeing the pictures from this culturally enriched kids fashion label.
Isossy shouts out fun, bright, global prints in glam but funky styles. I wouldn’t mind wearing the boy’s slouchy joggers (£30)!! The vibrant label’s showcase was a huge success. It was one of many kids’ fashion labels to feature as part of New York Fashion Week and was held at the Affinia hotel to a full house.
The entire AW16 collection was showed, which included leather, satin, sequins and jersey. Founder and designer, Amanda Rabor told me this collection brings a little Glamlove for girls. My take on the collection is that it is playful glam. I am not into clothes that make kids look too grown up and here I think Amanda has found a happy medium – it has bright colours, fab prints, sequins and practical cuts. It’s the grey jersey dress with the ruffles that really caught my eye (£40), as well as the turquoise with the African and leopard print (mainly because I am leopard print obsessed).
Where as my eldest Charlie and the Pirates loves the blood red jersey, probably because red is her favourite colour but also because it is not too girly! What I love about this piece is that it is simple yet striking.
There is a fab story behind Isossy, Amanda’s aim is to empower children to see African prints and Asian styles in their day-to-day lives to promote inclusion and understanding. Now I am not sure my kids will fully get this but it is great to see different styles and cultures into contemporary pieces. I also like that Isossy is a move away from the monochrome trend for fashion conscious parents. Don’t you think the models look slick yet very cute in these pictures?
